Small herbs, erect or ascending, profusely branched; leaves usually sessile, linear or narrowly lanceolate oblique at base, obtuse or rounded at apex, entire or minutely serrulate, glabrous above, puberulent beneath; cythia umbellale, axillary or terminal, minute, involucres campanulate, lobes-5, deltoid, subulate, ciliate; glands white, orbicular, rounded at apex, glands-4, broadly oblong, truncate; male flowers naked, pedicillate; stamen-1, without floral envelope; female flower naked, long pedicelled with 3-minute, perianth lobes; ovary 3-celled, ovule, one on each, style-3, free or connate; capsules subglobose or pyramidal, 3-lobed, sulcate, glabrous, pubescent; seeds ellipsoid, 4-angled, slightly transversely, rugose, yellow, smooth.
