Shrub, erect, branched 1-2 m high; leaves alternate, fiddle-shaped or panduriform, abruptly acuminate at apex, distantly dentate below; flowers in long pedunculate, corymbpose cymes, bright crimson; male flowers numerous, females few; male perianth crimsom, obovate, large; stamens 10, in 2 series, 5 short and 5 long, inner whorl more or less connate; female perianth as that of males; ovary 3-lobed, styles-3, slender, free; capsules globose or 3-angled, grooved. |
