Small, glabrous, deciduous tree; bark very rough; branches terete below, angular above, as thick as the finger; leaves compound, distichous, membranous, leaflets obliquely elliptic to obovate, acute at apex, rounded at base, nerves 5-8 pair, arched; petiole stout; flowers reddish, minute, densely clustered in slender racemes from the thick branches shortly pedicelled; male flowers numerous; tepals 4, ovate-orbicular, unequal; stamens 4, exserted; filaments recurved, anthers shortly oblong; disk of male large gland; of female annular, crenate; female flowers few, solitary; ovary subglobose, 3-lobed, styles-3, reflexed, forked into subulate arms; fruit drupaceous, depressed-globose, 6-8 grooved or angled, 1-seeded. |
