Herbs annual, erect, diffused or procumbent, up to 60 cm high; branches angled or grooved, glabrous or so; leaves alternate, distichous, sessile, simple, linear-oblong, obtuse-mucronate at apex, subequally rounded at base, glaucous beneath; stipules peltate; flowers minute, axillary, subsessile; bracts linear, scarious, acute; sepals 6, orbicular or obovate, ciliolate; stamens 3; filaments very shortly united, anthers didymous, not apiculate; ovary densely granulate, styles short, free with hooked arms, 2-fid; capsules 2-3 lobed, echinate, verrucose; seeds 3-angled, greyish brown, transversely furrowed. |
