Shrub or small tree, hispid; leaves opposite, decussate, ovate or oblong elliptic, abruptly acute at apex, rounded or truncate at base, entire or minutely dentate, coriaceous, scarid, hispid beneath, lateral nerves prominent; petiole long; stipules pubescent; receptacles mostly on short, leafless branches from the old wood, often near the ground; figs hispid, obovoid, yellowish and faintly ribbed when ripe; peduncle very short, basal bracts 3, persistent; male flowers in 2 rows, stamen 1; female flowers sessile or pedicellate; gall flowers sessile or pedicellate; figs large, hirsute on outer surface, pyriform, depressed at the top, green turning to purple when mature; style hairy, stigma cylindric, tubular. |
