Plant Description

Tree large, glabrous, bark grey; branches without aerial roots; leaves long petioled, entire, undulate, coriaceous, shining, cordate to obovate, apex long tailed, 5-7 nerved, stipule minute, ovate, acute; receptacles sessile in axillary paired, smooth, depressed-globose, dark purple when ripe; male flowers very few, only near the mouth of some receptacles, sessile, sepal-3, broadly ovate; anther 1, ovate-round, filament short; gall and female flowers sessile or pedicelled; sepals 5, lanceolate, style short, lateral, stigma round; gall much more numerous than the female, many without perianth.
