Plant Description
Evergreen climbing vine; clinging roots and aerial rootlets make it easy to cover the substratum; leaves 5-10 cm long, thick, broadly ovate, base cordate, apex acuminate, margins entire, scabrid, nerves 4-8 pairs, stipule ovate, minute; receptacles shortly pedicelled, solitary or paired, smooth, more or less pyrifoirm or depressed-globose, grenish purple when ripe, mouth partially open; male flowers very few, only near the mouth, perianth of male and gall 3-4 cleft, of female 4 cleft, broadly ovate; anther-1, ovate-round, filament short; female and gall flowers sessile or pedicelled; gall ovary ovoid, smooth, style long, lateral; stigma cylindric; achenes subglobose, tubercled, viscid. |
