Herb, perennial, slender; bulbs subglobose, tunicate, covered with old leaf bases; leaves radiculate, linear, 20-25 cm long, glabrous, plicate, many nerved; flowers solitary, pedicellate, scape fistular, up to 20 cm long; flower solitary; bracts spathaceous, entire; perianth infundibuliform, yellow straight or some what declinate, tube short, dilated upwards, lobes 6, equal, lanceolate, throat erect, narrowed at base; stamens 6, adnate to perianth at base, alternating long and short, filaments alternating with subulate teeth; ovary 3-locular, ovules few to many in each locule; style filiform, stigma 3 fid; capsule, subglobose, ovoid, seed white, glabrous. |
