Plant Description

Perennial, erect herb, rootstock globose, tuberous or creeping; leaves 3-partite, segments subequal, 2-3 fid, variously, unequally pinnate at the base, cover about 50-60 cm area in diameter; petioles and scape long, tapering, smooth, grooved, glabrous, streaked with light and dark green involucral leaves 4-12 or more, subequal, oblong, acuminate; flowers drooping, in umbels, green; bracts-bracteoles several, filiform; perianth subglobose, greenish yellow, fleshy, lobes margined with purple; stamens 6, included; filaments very short, expanded at base, dilated and hooded above anthers at top; ovary 1-celled, glabrous; style short, stigma 3, broad or petaloid, reflexed like an umbrella over the style; berries indehiscent, 3-valved, sub-globose, 6-ribbed, yellow when ripe; seeds numerous, ovoid, striate.
