Plant Description

Perennial, acaulescent herb or undershrub; leaves cylindric, fleshy, grooved, gradually attenuated, about 30-50 cm long; flowers on stout, narrow, peduncles with clusters of flowers in simple or branched racemes at each node; perianth white, tube short, lobes-6, linear-oblong, connate below the middle; stamens 6, anthers dorsifixed, filaments filiform, shorter than the perianth; ovary ovoid, 3-celled, superior, ovules solitary, erect in each locule, style filiform, stigma entire, slightly thickened; fruits berries, indehiscent, membranous, 1-3 seeded.
