Perennial, scapigerous, acaulescent herb or undershrub; leaves linear-oblong, erect, fasciculated, narrowed at apex, acute, margins entire, yellow, 30-50 cm long; flowers in fascicles or simple or branched racemes at each node; perianth tube short, lobes-6, oblong-linear, white, united at base; stamens 6, equalling the length of perianth, filaments filiform, anthers oblong, dorsifixed; ovary 3-celled, ovoid, ovules solitary, erect, in each locule, style filiform, stigma capitate or slightly thickened; fruit 3-lobed berries, 1-3 seeded.
