Herb with creeping, short rhizome; pseudostems erect, leafy, bulbils often present; leaves subsessile, leaf blade oblong-lanceolate, subcaudate, glabrous or slightly hairy beneath; rachis glabrous; flowers yellow with orange spots, in terminal panicles, rarely spikes; bracts caducous; calyx yellow, funnel shaped, shortly 3-lobed; corolla bright yellow, tube puberulous, 2-3 times longer than calyx, segments ovate, subequal, lateral staminodes petaloid, contiguous to the corolla lobes, lip deflexed, filament slender with 2-dorsal appendages, anther oblong, connective simple, winged or spurred; ovary 1-celled, placentas-3, parietal, style filiform, placed in a groove of the filament, stigma turbinate; capsules dehiscent, ellipsoid, smooth; seeds small, ovoid, arillate. |
