Annual herb; bulbs, globose, compound, large, tunicated; leaves narrow, fistular, subdistichous, glaucous, acute, green, fleshy towards base; flowers numerous in globose umbels, white or with green veins; scape long, terete or inflated, fistular; bracts 1-3, spathaceous, membranous, ovate-lanceolate; pedicels small, slender; perianth segments-6, linear-oblong, free or connate below; stamens-6, inserted at the base of perianth, filaments free or connate below, exserted, 3-inner filaments expanded at base, lobed or toothed, anthers oblong; ovary trigonous, 3-celled, few ovuled, style short, slender, stigma minute; capsule small, loculicidal; seeds few, compound or angular, black, shining.
