Perennial, small, slender herb; roots with ellipsoid tubers; leaves sessile, subdistichous or crowded, linear-lanceolate, glabrous; bulbils very often formed; flowers few, clustered on branched or unbranched, lax, slender, wiry, naked racemes, white; bracts scarious, ovate-lanceolate; pedicels jointed about the middle, elongating and drooping in fruits; perianth white-hyaline, tepals-6, lanceolate, free, spreading; stamens-6, not exserted, anthers oblong, filaments filiform; ovary 3-celled, ovules usually 2 in each cell, style-1, slender, stigma lobed; capsules globose-oblong, loculicidal, slightly 3-lobed; seeds 1-4, angular, black. |
