Erect or scandent woody, slender shrub, stems and branches more or less terete; cladodes fine, many from axils of curved spines, arranged in one plane, straight, acute; flowers axillary, solitary; pedicels filiform, short, jointed in middle; bracts minute; perianth lobes-6, linear-lanceolate, distinct, white; stamens 6; filaments slightly exerted; ovary globose, 3-celled, ovules many in each cell, styles 3-fid; fruit fleshy, globose, smooth, red berry; seeds 1-3, black.
