Perennial decumbent herb; branches creeping; leaves ovate-oblong, white and green striped above, purple beneath, rounded at base, acute acuminate or obtuse at apex, glistening white and green striped above; sheaths narrow, cylindric, ciliate at mouth, flowers few, enclosed in spathaceous bracts; bracts 2, sessile, clustered; sepals united at base, white, corolla-tube whitish, petals red-purple, stamens 6, inserted near the mouth of corolla tube, all fertile; stigma capitate. |
