Annual, woody herbs, erect, prostrate or straggling, branched from the base with whitish hairs; leaves small, alternate, elliptic or orbicular to obovate, obtuse or acute, densely lanate beneath; flowers greenish-white, very small, sessile, often bisexual in small, dense, axillary, spikes, often closely crowded forming subglobose clusters; tepals 5, obtuse, densely lanate dorsally; outer 2 hyaline, ovate-oblong, membranous, inner 3, slightly shorter; stamens, shortly connate at base, alternate with pseudostaminodes, anthers 2 celled; style short, slender distinct, stigma 2 fid; utricles indehiscent, rotundate, minute, compressed, coriaceous; seeds reniform 0.8 mm long black, shining. |
